| Grains steeped for 15 minutes at 170F. 60 minute, ~3 gallon boil.
All hops were in pellet form. Flavor hops added with 20 minutes remaining
in the boil. Aroma hops added with 5 minutes remaining in the boil. 2 tbsp.
vanilla added to the primary fermenter when the yeast was pitched.
Upon racking to the secondary, the vanilla flavor was gone, so I added
another 2 tbsp vanilla extract to the secondary. (The original recipe
called for only 2 tbsp.) In the end, that disappeared
as well, hence the name. Next time, maybe add more extract to the secondary,
or try vanilla beans. |
