Ingredients

Fermentables
  • 1 gallon pear cider from a local farm (no preservatives added)
  • ~1 lb. clover honey
Miscellaneous
  • 1 tbsp. Yeast Nutrient
Yeast
  • Wyeast Cider Yeast 3766



Brewing Notes

The honey was brought up to ~160 - 170F for 40 minutes in order to pasteurize. The pear cider, honey, yeast nutrient, and yeast were then added to the primary fermenter. Moved to secondary after roughly a month.
My laziness when it comes to bottling caused me to let this sit in secondary for about 7 months. Awesome. Actually, when i tasted the cider at bottling today, it was really good. It had a nice tang to it that apple cider doesn't. I got 8 bottles out of the batch. I can't wait to tear into them.
